Përshkrimi i kompanisë KfW Development Bank, one of the world's leading bilateral development banks, finances and manages some 2.000 development projects in more than 100 countries. We work on behalf of the German Government, helping to achieve the goals set for German Development Cooperation: Protecting the environment, ensuring peace, enhancing economic development and reducing poverty. In Albania, KfW so far has financed projects worth more than 1.2 billion Euro, promoting sustainable investments mainly in the energy, sustainable urban infrastructure and financial sector. As part of the Berlin Process summit in 2022, a Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the six WEB countries was announced. It was formalized through a Joint Declaration of the participants of the 2023 summit in Tirana. The partnership is envisaged to support the countries of the Western Balkans in bringing the region closer to the EU climate targets and the Paris Agreement and, through the implementation of the Green Agenda, to create the conditions for de-carbonization, energy independence and transition, as well as a green and socially just transition. Moreover, the EU has recently announced a New Growth Plan for the Western Balkan with additional funds being injected for green investments. Albania will play a pivotal role in the implementation of Germany's Climate Partnership and the EU New Growth Plan.
